Counselling, Psychotherapy and Beyond

Online Counselling and Psychotherapy IN WEST LONDON

About Me

Background

My own life experiences brought me to counselling and psychotherapy. After witnessing the transformative power of therapy first hand, I knew that it was something I had to do. After training as a counsellor, I have been able to use my experience to help many clients through trauma, domestic abuse and a wide range of other issues.

I have over 20 years’ experience working with mental health charities and my previous experience in different sectors has helped me become a better counsellor. I have worked as an Intervention Officer, helping people who have just come out of prison deal with the challenges they face, rehabilitating themselves into the community and becoming better citizens. I have also worked extensively for a refuge, helping women who have suffered different forms of domestic abuse come to terms with their experiences.

These experiences led me to hone my practice, developing my skills to support people who have suffered trauma in their lives. I understand the challenges that people face and how counselling therapy can help you restore balance into your life to help you take back control of your emotions.

I am community minded, and I work in the community to make sure people have access to the support they need when they are facing difficult challenges. I have worked with a variety of community based organisations, in an advisory capacity and as a lead expert to ensure that the mental health needs of the community are being met.

I sit on steering group for Community Mental Health services and attend regular board meetings. Occasionally, I am also asked to sit on interview panel or review services like Single Point of Access (SPA) Crisis Care and creation of Mental Health Safe Spaces.

Women’s Group

I facilitate women’s groups with various organisations. We meet regularly for about 8 sessions, as a group of women, to discuss and share our relationship experiences. We discuss relationship difficulties and negative patterns so that we can all learn from each other and establish healthier patterns for our relationships. I partner with For Women; For Women is a CIC (Community Interest Company) founded and led entirely by Women, who contribute to the emotional well-being of women through peer-to-peer talking groups.
